From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Gas is one of four classical states of matter. Near absolute zero, a substance exists as a solid. As heat is added to this substance it melts into a liquid at its melting point (see phase change), boils into a gas at its boiling point, and if heated high enough would enter a plasma state in which the electrons are so energized that they leave their parent atoms from within the gas. A pure gas may be made up of individual atoms (e.g. a noble gas or atomic gas like neon), elemental molecules made from one type of atom (e.g. oxygen), or compound molecules made from a variety of atoms (e.g. carbon dioxide). A gas mixture would contain a variety of pure gases much like the air. What distinguishes a gas from liquids and solids is the vast separation of the individual gas particles. This separation usually makes a colorless gas invisible to the human observer. The interaction of gas particles in the presence of electric and gravitational fields are considered negligible as indicated by the constant velocity vectors in the image. The gaseous state of matter is found between the liquid and plasma states, the latter of which provides the upper temperature boundary for gases. Bounding the lower end of the temperature scale lie degenerative quantum gases which are gaining increased attention these days. High-density atomic gases super cooled to incredibly low temperatures are classified by their statistical behavior as either a Bose gas or a Fermi gas. For a comprehensive listing of these exotic states of matter see list of states of matter. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License what gases are given off when aluminum is cut on a plasma table? Q. I'm wondering what gases are emitted when aluminum is cut on a plasma table, any help would be greatly appreciated. Would that cause any adverse health effects? Asked by erik.stenny - Thu Aug 21 18:53:16 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Any oils or impurities on or in the aluminum metal would be vapourized by the plasma. Aluminum oxide would be produced as a 'smoke' and no doubt a certain amount of metallic aluminum vapour. The exact content would depend somewhat on the nature of the plasma and the types of impurities in the metal. Q. a) Increases the rate of reaction. b) Decreases the rate of reaction. c) Does not affect the rate of reaction. d) Increases the concentration of the gases. e) Decreases the concentration of the gases. f) Increases collisions between gas molecules. g) Decreases collisions between gas molecules. h) Rate of collision is independent of volume and concentration. Q. H2S and Sulphur gases are creating failure to PCB / data server . these gases destroy the Hard disk and PCB's of computer . Asked by neeraj b - Sat Apr 26 03:33:05 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you have H2S in a room inside your building, you have a much more serious problem than acid degeneration of circuits. You might want to consider expert help before someone dies. H2S smells at low concentrations but desensitizes the nose, making it so that you can be exposed to deadly levels without even noticing. Extreme Hazard. There is nothing in a normal circumstance of a room or building that would be expected to generate sulfur compounds, so if this is a problem, identify the source and eliminate it.
