Globalization (or globalisation) describes a process by which regional economies, societies, and cultures have become integrated through a global network of communication, transportation, and trade. The term is sometimes used to refer specifically to economic globalization: the integration of national economies into the international economy through trade, foreign direct investment, capital flows, migration, and the spread of technology. However, globalization is usually recognized as being driven by a combination of economic, technological, sociocultural, political, and biological factors. The term can also refer to the transnational circulation of ideas, languages, or popular culture through acculturation.

How is globalization related to work and the rights of workers?
Q. Because of globalization, we can t really understand what is going on in one part of the world without looking at how it s related to everything else in the world. How is this concept related to work and the rights of workers?

A. Yes it is , when the working wage in all parts of the world are set to the lowest denominator then world order will be established. When the top group in charge controls the means of production and the lower group is the labor , then a true world order is set . Least until the workers revolt ! True Socialism, in which everyone is truly equal, does not just resemble a prison - it is a prison. It can not exist unless it is surrounded by high walls, by watchtowers and by guard-dogs, for people always want to escape from any socialist regime, just as they do from a prison. If you continue your attempts to establish a model society you will need to build walls around it. You will be forced to do so sooner or later by the flood of refugees..

How does globalization impacts the shape and structure of a city?
Q. can y'all plz help me with some answers that how globalization impacts the shape and structure of a city?

A. Interesting question. Two that come to mind would be in transportation and in industry. Transportation requirements to transport goods such as ports, roadways, rail, etc. For industry I was thinking more along the lines of how a city would look much different as it goes through industrialization - more factories, higher population densities and concentrations of business. All of this is very highly related to increasing international trade and globalization.

What would have been the impact of globalization in india if there is no concept of huge software outsourcing?
Q. The economical growth in india is only due to software outsourcing. I just want to know how it would have been {Globalization} minus {computer software technology} . The above state gives us only manufacturing outsourcing. Would it be possible to attain atleast 1/10th of the present growth?

A. This is a really strange question... How do you estimate the impact of thunder if there is no concept of lightning? The Indian software industry was one of the first to embrace globalization; without it, the BPO industry may or may not have developed the way it did, and software offshoring may or may not have happened. This said, software is far from the only Indian export. Textiles, gems, industrial equipment, chemicals, and leather still remain major Indian exports.

  • "Globalization" is a horrible term, in the sense that it encompasses all kinds of things; it's used very widely and vaguely.
  • Projects to stop the spread of AIDS have tried to establish protective boundaries ... by requiring HIV tests in order to cross national boundaries.
